Microsoft Windows XP Pro contains all the features of the Home Edition, plus several more for business and advanced users. To determine if Pro is right for you, consider these points:

1. Do you want to remotely access your computer to work on all your data and applications whilst away from your PC?
2. Do you connect to a large PC network?
3. Do you need to protect sensitive files?
4. Do you need the ability to completely restore your system in the event of catastrophic failure?
5. Would you consider yourself a 'power user'?

All the above are features of the Pro edition. Only Pro has the Remote Desktop feature, only Pro has Domains for network management, and only Pro uses Encrypting File System (EFS) for added security and has more robust options for backup and restore.
