How to Delete System Restore Points


Tips 1:
How to disable System Restore when advised after a Virus or Trojan infection


  1. Click Start
  2. Right-click on the My Computer icon, and then click Properties
  3. Click the "System Restore" tab
  4. Check "Turn off system restore" or "Turn off system restore on all drives"
  5. Click Apply. The following message appears"You have chosen to turn off System Restore.
    If you continue, all existing restore points will be deleted, and you will not be able to track or undo changes to your computer.Do you want to turn off System Restore?" Yes / No
  6. As noted in the message, this will delete all existing restore points. Click Yes to do this.
  7. Click OK

How to Enable Windows XP System Restore after Virus/Trojan has been removed

  1. Click Start
  2. Right-click on My Computer and then click Properties
  3. Right-click on My Computer and then click Properties.
  4. Click the "System Restore" tab.
  5. Uncheck "Turn off system restore" or "Turn off system restore on all drives."
  6. Click Apply, and then click OK.
